Formations is the third piece of a series. Eco and rust dyed rescued fabric, PET fibers (recycled), string, wool, wire, washers.

Eco dyed rescued fabrics are hand stitched into "poufs" stuffed with PET fibers, then embellished with: wire, washers, stitching with embroidery floss or wool. The “poufs” are then soaked with vinegar, wrapped in plastic sheeting with rusty metal and left for 12 to 48 hours to rust dye. They are then air dried to set the color before being washed and soaked in a water and baking soda solution to stop the rusting. When I have a large pile of “poufs” they are assembled and stitched onto the hardware cloth that has been covered in fabric and attached to my vintage frame. This piece can be rotated 360 degrees for hanging - landscape or portrait.
